The First Argentinian Asado Championship in Miami

With an estimated attendance of 9000 people, (Doral police estimate 10,000) of which we estimate 65% Argentine residents.
The admission was free, access to food and beverages and other products was paid directly to the authorized positions. The average sale of each grill ranged between $ 5,000 and $ 9,000.
The grill with VIP tent sold $ 19,000.00, and according to the data of suppliers and grills sold about 9000 sausages and an amount close to 2 TN of meat.
The provisions of traditional brands such as Havanna, Freddo, etc. were exhausted.
The communication of the event was almost exclusively by digital means, reaching a wide diffusion among the Argentine and Latin community. 9000 people were registered and email data, etc of 4500 were obtained. The communication management within the event was in charge of the renowned professional Julio Lagos.
Two of the most important portals of the Latino community in Greater Miami are the Nuevo Herald and particularly for the Argentine community, Infobae, and both gave extensive coverage to it. He was also commented on the Miami newscasts of the main Spanish-speaking channels and open channels of Argentina.
The Semanario Argentino, the most important printed media of the Argentinean community in Miami, dedicated its cover to the event, even the open Argentine TV highlighted in an audiovisual note the championship.

The Meat

The 11 teams roasted a vacuum cut, a roast wide strip and an entraña, all classics of the Argentine grill.

They worked with their own tools and used white quebracho coal.

The Jury

A jury composed of famous representatives of the culinary world and Argentine and local institutional representatives decided on the best steakhouse of this event, who received the award, courtesy of Delta-Aerolineas Argentinas, two round-trip tickets to Buenos Aires.

Second place was Mariano Araya, Chef of Mariano’s Cuisine, Doral.
