World Malbec Day is celebrated on April 17 to commemorate the date on which Argentine President Domingo Faustino Sarmiento made explicit his mission to transform the country’s wine industry.
In 2011, Wines of Argentina, the entity responsible for communicating the Argentine wine brand around the world, established April 17 as World Malbec Day.
Currently, more than 70 cities around the world (coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship) organize events to honor Malbec, food and the Argentine lifestyle.
On April 10, the Consulate General of the Argentine Republic will celebrate the Malbec World Day, on which occasion, MIArgentina presents the Malbec Week in Miami, a gastronomic event that brings together the best Argentinean restaurants in Miami.
Malbec Week in Miami will be held from Friday 12 to Sunday 21 April.
Participating restaurants will have special dishes using Malbec wine as an ingredient or companion, tastings and special offers.
This project has the institutional support of the Consulate General of the Argentine Republic in Miami, Buenos Aires Gastronomic City and Wines of Argentina.
